In the summer of 2011, I unknowingly took the first step on a journey that would eventually lead me to where I am now.....teaching, serving, and sharing the love of Christ in Odessa, Ukraine.
It was June 2011, when I made my first trip to Ukraine. I taught conversational English at a Michael Gott English Evangelism Event in Cherkassy. God ignited a passion in me for Ukrainian people and serving them through teaching conversational English.
God forever changed my heart. Life was no longer about me, how many Bible studies that I could participate in/lead, or how many Christian buzz words that I could use at the perfect time.
From that point on my time in Texas was spent waiting for the next opportunity to return to Ukraine. That I did....winter 2012 (Kiev) and summer 2012 (Odessa, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv).
God made it abundantly clear that He was guiding me towards a more full-time placement in Ukraine. I had no idea what this would be or even where. Until.....November 2012. The director (Sergey) of an English Ministry in Odessa called and invited me to teach conversational English. I cannot put into words how perfect of an opportunity this was. But hey...we are talking about God...that's how He rolls. The only real option was which search engine I would use to buy my plane ticket. ;)
It is incredible what He can do when I step aside and let Him be glorified. I am excited to be a part of what He is doing in Ukraine!!
